How can you put a myspace background onto a blog?

I was wondering if one could make a 360 blog with a full background pic/wallpaper, and have type and pics over the top. A friend on my 360, Johnny the natural has done a lightning boarder to his, ( check it out ), but he won't tell me how he did it. Can someone tell me, I think being able to have gif, glitter pics in the background of the blog, would be awesome, like the front page of a myspace. Thank you.

Yes, you can. You'll have to do some photo editing work though.

FIRST:

Here is a directory of wallpaper/background sites: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2006/12/... . You can also search for images via keyword searches on Google at http://images.google.com .

You may want to try joining these three groups, as they may provide some good tips as well:

* You may beat your friend's page design-wise. *wink*

DOWN TO BUSINESS:

REMEMBER: Your background picture must be JPEG formatted (.jpg, .jpeg, or .jpe as the extension) and under 250KB in file size.

If you've NEVER WORKED with your custom theme before:

After logging into 360, click on the "My Page" link next to your "Home" link. Then, at the top under that line of links is the word "Theme: [name of whatever theme you currently have]." Click the "Change Theme" link that's directly under those words.

On the new page that comes up, there's a paragragh stating "Select a Theme - Change the look of your Yahoo! 360鎺?page by picking a theme. Click "Apply Theme" to make the change." Directly under that click a link called "Customize Your Theme." A new "Customize Your Theme" window will pop up where you can insert .jpg pictures or files as well as customize colors.

If you HAVE WORKED with the custom theme window before:

Click the "Edit Custom Theme" link toward the top left of your "My Page."

To avoid too much tiling, make sure that the image is 1064 pixels wide (or slightly more) by 1200 pixels in height. Upload the image as a single background image and choose to center (or top center) it. Really, you should try to make the height dimension as long as possible - maybe up to 2000 pixels. You'll have to play around with it a bit to get it right. He probably found an image that already had the lightning boarder and stretched it to fit his page.

Paint is on most Windows computers with Microsoft software in the Accessories programs section.

- Open Paint, then open the image file from within Paint.

- Click on the Image Menu and choose "Attributes." - Adjust the pixel width and length. OR use "stretch and skew" and just reduce the percentage.

- Save as a JPEG.

Also, you may want to see my post here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

Although, using Adobe Photoshop instead of Paint would save alot of time - in terms of overlapping/adding images to a main image.
